Taylor Swift Continues to Break Grammy Nomination Records

The 34-year-old singer has set a new milestone in the history of the Grammy Awards by becoming the first female artist to receive 7 nominations for Album of the Year.

On November 8, the list of 2025 Grammy nominations was announced by the Recording Academy. Taylor Swift was one of the most talked-about names, with nominations in 6 categories. Her album The Tortured Poets Department, released in April, earned her 5 nominations: Album of the Year, Record of the Year with Fortnight, Song of the Year (Fortnight), Pop Album of the Year, and Best Music Video (Fortnight).

Additionally, Taylor Swift received another nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with her song Us, in collaboration with Gracie Abrams.

Taylor Swift has won the Album of the Year Grammy four times, with albums: Midnights (2024), Folklore (2021), 1989 (2016), and Fearless (2010). This is the highest achievement by any artist in the 66-year history of the Grammy Awards. Fans are hoping Taylor Swift will set another new record at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

However, Taylor Swift is not the only one making history with the release of the 2025 Grammy nominations. Beyoncé leads the pack this year with 11 nominations, making her the artist with the most nominations in Grammy history. The Halo singer has a total of 99 nominations throughout her career.

Beyoncé has been nominated in major categories such as Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year for Texas Hold ‘Em. Despite winning 29 Grammy Awards over her career, Beyoncé has yet to win the biggest prize: Album of the Year. This year, she will compete with Taylor Swift, André 3000, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Jacob Collier, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan for this prestigious award.

Other artists who received multiple nominations include Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone, each with 7 nominations. Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan received 6 nominations.

The Recording Academy members will vote for the winners from December 12 to January 3. The 2025 Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on February 2, 2025.
