Lil Baby Announces Two Albums in 2025, Will Showcase Different Sides of His Artistry

Lil Baby, the Atlanta rap superstar, has revealed exciting news for his fans: he’s set to release two new albums in 2025, each offering a unique glimpse into his evolving artistry. Appearing on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, Baby shared the details behind the projects, explaining how they’ll differ in tone and content.

“At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album,” Baby said. “Now, I’m dropping the WHAM album and Dominique album.” The first project, WHAM (Who Hard As Me), will drop on January 3, while the second, titled after his real name, Dominique, is “hopefully” set for release in February 2025.

Two Albums, Two Sides of Lil Baby

The Atlanta rapper broke down the differences between the two albums during the podcast.

WHAM is more me on some young n***a shit — fast cars, girls, jewelry, money. You know, the turnt lifestyle,” Baby explained, describing it as an energetic and flashy project aimed at his core fanbase.

On the other hand, Dominique will explore a more introspective and personal side of Lil Baby. “That’s a part of the new journey I’m on,” he added. “I hate the word vulnerable, but I’m gonna be more open to my fans and my audience.”

Baby also mentioned that some songs originally intended for Dominique were shifted to WHAM to cater to his fanbase’s preferences, ensuring both projects resonate with listeners.

Star-Studded Collaborations and Tracklists

Lil Baby has already teased a star-packed lineup for WHAM. In a behind-the-scenes glimpse shared on his Instagram Stories, a whiteboard displayed potential collaborators, including Travis Scott, Future, 21 Savage, Young Thug, GloRilla, and Rod Wave.

The WHAM album is expected to feature 15 tracks, with an additional five tracks planned for the deluxe version. Fans have already been treated to three singles ahead of the album’s release: “5AM,” “Insecurities,” and “Touchdown.” However, Baby revealed that the first two singles won’t appear on the album. “Insecurities, 5AM going crazzyyy. Crazy party [sic] is… they ain’t even on the album,” he wrote on social media.

A Journey Through Darkness

Both albums come from a deeply personal place, with Lil Baby revealing that WHAM was created following “the darkest period” in his life over the last two years. The projects will serve as his fourth and fifth studio albums, following 2022’s It’s Only Me, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling over 215,000 first-week units.

A Massive Start to 2025

With WHAM arriving in January and Dominique following shortly after, Lil Baby is positioning himself for a dominant year in music. Fans can expect WHAM to deliver the high-energy, party-starting anthems they’ve come to love, while Dominique promises to offer a more profound connection, giving listeners a glimpse into Baby’s life and emotions like never before. WHAM and Dominique will serve as the rap star’s fourth and fifth studio albums, respectively, following up 2022’s It’s Only Me which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with over 215,000 first-week units.

Stay tuned as Lil Baby continues to evolve as an artist, pushing boundaries with these two highly anticipated projects.
