Liam Payne Toxicology Results Confirm Multiple Drugs in System

Payne died of “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” as a result of a third-floor balcony fall in Buenos Aires, Argentina

On October 21, a report shared by ABC News brought to light new details surrounding Liam Payne’s tragic passing. A partial autopsy indicated that Payne had “multiple substances in his system” when he died. Among them was “pink cocaine,” a substance that often includes a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA—though not always cocaine itself, as clarified by the National Capital Poison Center.

The investigation also revealed that an aluminum pipe, reportedly used to ingest substances, was found in his hotel room.

On that same day, officials released a statement confirming that three individuals in Argentina had been taken into custody in connection to Payne’s untimely passing from a third-floor hotel balcony. These suspects face charges of “abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supply and facilitation of narcotics.” Their identities, however, remain private out of respect for the ongoing investigation.

After Payne’s death, officials noted some indications of illicit activity involving these individuals. According to reports, one of the suspects had been a close companion to Payne, present with him daily during his time in Buenos Aires. Another is a hotel employee allegedly linked to supplying drugs, while the third suspect is reportedly a drug supplier.

Forensic findings provided clarity on the incident, ruling out self-harm or harm by others as factors in his death. Instead, a forensic doctor concluded that Payne’s passing was due to “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” following his fall.

Additional information suggests that Payne may not have been fully aware of his surroundings or could have been experiencing a “significant loss of consciousness” at the time of the fall.
