Ariana Grande’s fans were left disheartened this week amid reports that the pop sensation has no plans to tour in 2025 following the success of the Wicked movie adaptation.

No Tour Plans After Wicked

The 31-year-old star, who recently earned her first Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Glinda in Wicked: Part One, was rumoured to embark on a new concert tour after the film’s release. Speculation intensified online as fans noticed a series of dates that seemingly appeared on Ticketmaster, leading many to believe Grande was preparing for her next big tour.

This would mark her first album tour in over three years, following the release of Positions in 2020. However, the singer has repeatedly denied rumours of a world tour. Earlier this year, she teased the possibility of a smaller concert series rather than a full-scale tour.

In a July episode of the Shut Up Evan podcast, Grande hinted at a potential mini-tour to promote her upcoming album, Eternal Sunshine. She suggested it could happen between the release of Wicked: Part One and Part Two, which is slated for a November 26, 2025, release.

“I still want to perform,” Grande told host Evan Ross Katz. “I think it would be a really great idea to put on a few shows between the two Wicked movies. I think there’s a version of that that could happen.”

She explained that while a world tour may not be feasible “for many reasons,” a series of smaller shows could be the answer. “I think doing that would be amazing, and my team and I are working on figuring it out,” she added.

A Shift Toward Acting

Grande has also expressed a renewed passion for acting following her work on Wicked. Her performance as Galinda (Glinda the Good Witch) has already earned her critical acclaim, including a Critics Choice nomination for Best Supporting Actress earlier this week.

Speaking candidly in a November 6 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, hosted by her Wicked co-stars Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, Grande said, “I’m going to say something scary, and it’s going to freak my fans and everyone out.”

“I’ll always make music, I’ll always perform, I’ll always do pop—I promise,” she continued. “But right now, I feel a pull to act and explore this passion further.”
