After eight tumultuous years, Angelina Jolie is reportedly optimistic that her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, will cease his attacks on her now that their drawn-out divorce battle has concluded.

“Angelina hopes the finalization of their divorce will allow him to move on, stop attacking her, and instead focus on healing their family,” a source told on Tuesday, a day after the former Hollywood power couple resolved their highly contentious legal disputes.

The insider added, “Brad has leveraged his power and privilege to cover up his behavior at the expense of the family, punishing Angelina for leaving and even attempting to paint her as the reason for his strained relationships with their children.”

Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, share six children: three biological—Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16)—and three adopted—Maddox (23), Pax (21), and Zahara (19).

A Nightmare for Jolie and Her Family

Another source close to Jolie described the divorce process as a nightmare for her and her children.

“These past eight years have truly been a horrific time for her and her family,” the source said.

However, a source close to Pitt countered Jolie’s claims, “Jolie has engaged in one-sided attacks over the past eight years, consistently distorting the truth and blaming others for her actions, causing significant harm to those within and around the family.”

The Official End of Brangelina

On Monday, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially finalized their divorce, closing the chapter on a grueling legal battle that spanned nearly a decade.

Despite the resolution, one major point of contention remains unresolved: their $62 million dispute over Château Miraval, the French estate and winery they once co-owned.

The former couple, once dubbed “Brangelina,” signed their divorce papers this week, marking the end of their marriage.

Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, said the actress feels relieved to leave this chapter behind.

“Truthfully, Angelina is exhausted,” Simon stated.

“Over eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left behind all the assets they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then, she has focused on finding peace and healing for her family,” he added.

Strained Relationships Within the Family

In the wake of the separation, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne reportedly dropped “Pitt” from their names. While Knox and Vivienne are said to maintain contact with their father, Maddox and Pax are reportedly estranged.

Although the divorce proceedings are finalized, the legal battle over Château Miraval—a renowned French winery estate—remains contentious.

Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her share of the winery to Stoli Group, the company behind Stolichnaya vodka, without his consent.

While their divorce has made progress, there is no clear resolution in sight for the vineyard dispute.

Sources said that both parties are prepared to take the matter to a jury trial or attempt mediation if necessary.

As Jolie and Pitt move forward, the conclusion of their divorce may bring a sense of closure, but unresolved disputes continue to cast a shadow over their shared history.
