Tory Lanez Fires Back at Megan Thee Stallion from Behind Bars… Yet Again
The ongoing feud between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion has taken another dramatic turn. From the confines of his prison cell, the controversial Canadian rapper is not backing down, this time responding to Megan’s latest legal action—a request for a restraining order. Lanez, who was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan, remains defiant, rallying his legal team to contest what they are calling an overreach of the justice system.
The Latest Legal Showdown
In a complaint filed last week, Lanez and his attorneys argued that the rapper behind “Bigger In Texas” was misusing the Los Angeles County civil court system to pursue a “baseless civil harassment restraining order” against Daystar Peterson (Tory Lanez’s real name).
The filing asserts, “Ms. Pete [Megan Thee Stallion] has chosen to weaponize the justice system, leveraging her public celebrity status and corporate backing to suppress freedom of speech and dissenting opinions. This is not what the justice system was designed for.”
Lanez’s team further pointed to California Code of Civil Procedure Section 527.8, which, they claim, does not permit courts to issue orders infringing upon an individual’s free speech rights.
Megan’s Swift Response
Megan’s attorney, Mari Henderson, was quick to respond, issuing a scathing statement just days after the complaint was filed.
“It is delusional for a convicted felon, found guilty of violence against his victim, to continue harassing her while opposing a protective order meant to shield her,” Henderson declared. “We remain confident that the court will take the necessary steps to protect the victim from further harm.”
Ongoing Allegations of Online Harassment
This development follows another recent filing in which Megan’s legal team alleged that Lanez and his father had enlisted Milagro Gramz (also known as Mobz World), a vlogger, to propagate false narratives and harass Megan online. They claimed Gramz acted as a de facto spokesperson for Lanez, perpetuating misinformation about the Houston rapper.
The court documents also highlighted a $3,000 payment allegedly made to Gramz, which Megan’s attorneys argued was proof of a coordinated effort to discredit and intimidate her.
In their own filing, Lanez’s lawyers pushed back against these accusations, urging the public “not to rush to judgment” and framing the restraining order request as another attempt to stifle their client’s voice.
A History of Conflict
The animosity between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez stems from the 2020 shooting incident that resulted in Lanez receiving a 10-year prison sentence. Since the trial concluded, the fallout has continued to play out in both courtrooms and on social media, with Lanez’s team persistently challenging legal decisions against him.
Henderson’s statement, however, underscored the ongoing emotional toll on Megan, stating, “Our client deserves to feel safe and protected, free from the relentless harassment she has endured since this ordeal began.”
As Lanez’s legal team continues to push against Megan’s protective order request, the saga between these two artists shows no signs of resolution. With allegations of harassment, appeals to free speech rights, and public opinion heavily divided, this case remains a flashpoint in discussions about accountability and celebrity power dynamics.
For now, Megan’s team is standing firm, Lanez’s defense is digging in, and the public is left watching as the drama unfolds in court and beyond.
