The star of The Hills (37 years old) describes the Kardashians as “calculated” and “fake,” placing the blame squarely on Scott Disick for the break in her friendship with Kourtney, who is 45. Kristin first met Kourtney through her connection with Scott, who was dating Kourtney at the time.

“Scott and Kourtney started dating. That’s how I met Kourtney,” Cavallari shared. “I really liked Kourtney. We were actually really good friends.” However, their relationship took a complicated turn when Scott and Kourtney briefly broke up.

The Vegas Incident That Sparked Rumors

Kristin then went to Las Vegas with a few of her guy friends, and by coincidence, Scott was among them. “We were always just friends,” she explains. “He was upset about his breakup with Kourtney, and we all hung out. We had a great time. I was never alone with Scott.”

The drama ignited the following morning when tabloids falsely reported that Kristin and Scott had been involved romantically. “I remember thinking, ‘What the heck is going on here?’,” Cavallari recalls, implying that Scott may have fueled the rumors to make Kourtney jealous.

Kourtney, understandably upset by the rumors, reached out to Kristin. “Kourtney, you know this isn’t true. I would never get with Scott,” Kristin reassured her. We should hang out.’“

Kristin didn’t take kindly to Scott’s sudden outreach, feeling that it was all part of a larger, calculated move. “To me, that’s very calculated,” she says, reflecting on the Kardashian family’s approach to handling public disputes. “That’s what people like the Kardashians and a lot of people in Hollywood do. If you speak out, they want you to stay quiet.“

Kristin added, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I don’t play that game. To me, it’s very fake.“

Kristin further explained, “People who lie or cheat, it’s because they are hurt. That’s their issue, not mine.” She emphasized that there were things about her marriage to Jay that she would never fully understand, and she’s now learned to let go. “I’ve moved on. I think that’s why I can talk about it comfortably now,” she concluded.
