During the opening of her SKIMS flagship store in New York City on Thursday, Kim Kardashian shared a shocking update about the family’s Christmas Eve plans. The 44-year-old reality star admitted to Vogue that, instead of an over-the-top event, the Christmas Eve party will be a smaller, more intimate affair.

“We’re doing a really low-key Christmas Eve party this year just because we have a lot of construction going on,” Kim explained.

Kim is currently in the midst of renovating her $60 million mansion in Calabasas, while her sister Khloe Kardashian is also renovating her new home, located next to their mom Kris Jenner’s property in Hidden Hills. Despite the changes, Kim assured fans that the party would still be fun.

“We’re doing a family intimate one that I’m really excited about – still dressing up to the nines because that’s what we do,” she added. “We’ve had some legendary Christmas Eve parties and they’re just beginning. Our kids love them and now all their friends want to come. It’s such a fun tradition.”

Kim’s candidness about the changes to the Christmas Eve party was a bit of a departure from the usual glitz and glam we expect from the family’s holiday celebrations. Last year’s gathering, hosted at Kim’s home, featured a star-studded guest list, including notable figures like Paris Hilton.

Kim’s Foot Injury Doesn’t Slow Her Down

In addition to revealing her family’s holiday plans, Kim also opened up about her recent foot injury. The SKIMS founder explained that she had broken her foot earlier this month but didn’t let it keep her from attending the grand opening of her flagship store.

“A girl’s got to do what a girl’s gotta do, broken foot and all,” Kim joked, adding that nothing was going to stop her from showing up to the big event.

While the exact details of the injury remain unclear, Kim did share a photo of her injured foot in a boot cast, with Fergie’s “Clumsy” playing in the background and a pair of crutches visible in the frame. In a post on Instagram, Kim humorously captioned the image: “FML. Broken foot for the holidays.”

Despite her injury, Kim continued to promote her business, making an appearance at her SKIMS store opening in New York. She was seen getting around on a black knee scooter, although she didn’t hesitate to wear high-heeled boots on her uninjured foot. Kim’s Previous Injury

This isn’t the first time Kim has experienced an injury in 2024. Earlier in the year, she broke her index and middle fingers in a horrific accident involving a sliding door at her home. The injury was so severe that the bone was visible through her skin.

“I was shutting the big sliding door in my bathroom, and it doesn’t have a latch. You have to pull the inside of the mechanics out,” Kim explained on an episode of The Kardashians in July.

In the midst of the accident, her son Saint, nine, accidentally ran into the bathroom, causing the door to slam onto Kim’s fingers. Kim vividly described the pain she experienced, noting that it was more intense than childbirth.
