In a statement, the Broncos confirmed Reynolds’ condition, saying, “Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Suspects Arrested in Shooting Incident

The Denver police reported that two suspects, Luis Mendoza (35) and Burr Charlesworth (42), have been arrested and face charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. According to NBC affiliate KUSA-TV, Reynolds was shot once in the left arm and once in the back of his head but is expected to recover. He is currently on injured reserve due to a broken finger and did not accompany the team for their Thursday night game against the New Orleans Saints on October 17. The shooting took place just hours after the Broncos celebrated their victory against the Saints.

Reynolds Seen During Practice

This week, Reynolds has been seen working out on a side field during Broncos practices. However, as a player on injured reserve, he is not allowed to speak with the media. In his ninth NFL season and first with the Broncos, Reynolds signed a two-year, $9 million contract last offseason. He has played in five games this season, starting one and recording 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown.
