Britney Spears’ $60 Million Fortune is Running Low
Nearly three years since regaining control over her finances, Britney Spears’ $60 million fortune is reportedly running low due to her struggles with financial management. However, the likelihood of the pop princess going bankrupt is very low.
On November 12, 2021, Britney Spears achieved the freedom she had long desired after a judge in Los Angeles ruled to terminate her conservatorship that had been in place since February 2008. She not only regained her autonomy but also the right to manage the $60 million fortune she earned during her peak career.
However, after two and a half years, sources reveal that the singer of “Baby One More Time” is facing financial difficulties. “She has no concept of money. For over a decade, others managed her bank accounts, and every transaction had to be reported to the court,” a source shared.
Britney’s family and friends are in a difficult position, not wanting to make her feel like she is being controlled again by raising concerns about her spending. “It’s tough. No one wants to be Jamie 2.0,” the insider emphasized, referencing her former conservator.
Britney Spears has not released any albums since August 2016, and her last tour ended in October 2018. In January, she stated on Instagram that she would never return to the music industry. However, since the end of her conservatorship, she has engaged in two major projects: the song “Hold Me Closer,” a collaboration with Elton John, and her memoir “The Woman In Me,” which debuted in October 2023.
Reports indicate that Britney has a $15 million publishing deal, earning 25% of the profits from book sales. In the U.S. alone, “The Woman In Me” has generated over 2 million copies in sales. An insider noted, “She is not bankrupt. But she could certainly benefit from being more careful with her spending.”
Much of Britney’s spending stems from frequent vacations to top tourist destinations like Maui, Hawaii, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a single trip to French Polynesia, staying at a luxury resort with rooms costing up to $23,400 per night.
An insider indicated that private flights and five-star villas are quickly draining her fortune. The cost of chartering a private jet can range from $3,000 to $185,000 per hour, depending on the size of the aircraft and the route.
