Angelina Jolie Spotted with Son Maddox on the Set of Stitches

For the first time, Angelina Jolie was seen on the set of her latest film, Stitches, alongside her son Maddox, in Paris on Wednesday.

The sighting comes just a day after reports confirmed that Maddox, 23, is working as the film’s third assistant director.

Jolie on Set in Paris

The Maleficent star, 49, has been busy filming the fashion drama in France. On this occasion, Jolie was seen stepping in front of the camera to film scenes at a wig shop and later outside a hospital courtyard.

To combat the chilly weather, Jolie wore a dark gray sweater paired with loose-fitting gray trousers and a black leather coat, left unbuttoned. She completed the look with ankle-high boots and accessorized with a large black bag and multiple statement rings. Her signature long hair, parted in the middle, fell effortlessly to her shoulders.

Jolie was also spotted mingling with crew members during a break between scenes, radiating her usual professionalism and charm.

Maddox Joins the Film Industry

Maddox, who previously studied at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, was seen roaming the set in an all-black outfit. This isn’t his first foray into the film industry. He has worked with Jolie on several projects, including as an assistant director for Maria and Without Blood, and served as executive producer for First They Killed My Father in 2017.

Reflecting on their collaboration, Maddox has praised his mother, calling her “funny, easy to work with, and joyful.”

Family on Set

Joining Maddox on the Paris set was Jolie’s 19-year-old daughter, Zahara, though it’s unclear if she has a role in the project.

Jolie shares six children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, Zahara, Pax (21), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16).

About Stitches

Directed by Alice Winocour, Stitches marks the French filmmaker’s English-language debut. The film follows an American filmmaker (played by Jolie) on a “survival journey” as she navigates Paris during Fashion Week.

The cast also includes notable names such as Ella Rumpf, Louis Garrel, Anyier Anei, Garance Marillier, and Finnegan Oldfield.

Jolie was first spotted filming scenes for Stitches earlier this month, braving the Paris night outside a bar—just days after reportedly breaking a toe.

A Family Legacy in Film

Jolie is no stranger to involving her children in her creative ventures. Both Maddox and Pax assisted on her recent Netflix biopic, Maria, which officially premiered on December 11. In an interview, Jolie shared her gratitude for working with her children, saying, “They’ve helped me explore relationships and violence in the film—topics we might not otherwise discuss.”

She added, “Mad and Pax have taken on AD [assistant director] roles a few times now, and I think it’s been a great experience for them. Pax also enjoys still photography, and he’s been recognized for his talent.”

Jolie also discussed how her children’s growing independence has allowed her to return to acting and directorial work. “They’re older now and more independent. I’m not as needed at home, and they’re at an age where they can come to work with me. It’s a new phase for us, and I’m excited to see them grow.”

Ongoing Projects and Personal Struggles

Jolie’s work on Stitches comes hot on the heels of her critically acclaimed portrayal of late opera singer Maria Callas in Netflix’s Maria. Directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie, Spencer), the film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion.

While managing her creative pursuits, Jolie is also navigating a contentious legal battle with Pitt over their shared French vineyard. Reports indicate that Brad Pitt, now 61, has been ordered to provide evidence regarding allegations of abuse during their marriage.

Despite the challenges, Jolie continues to embrace her career and family with unwavering determination. Her children’s active involvement in her projects reflects a shared passion for storytelling and a legacy deeply rooted in creativity. Fans eagerly await the release of Stitches, where Jolie’s artistry will once again take center stage.
