Xzibit Reveals Wild Story from His Time with Big Pun: Guns, Cops, & Bullet-Riddled Tour Bus
Xzibit recently shared a jaw-dropping story from his early days on the road with Big Pun, filled with intense moments, guns, cops, and even a shooting on their tour bus. The tale, which he recounted during a chat with Bootleg Kev, is nothing short of wild and highlights the unpredictable nature of life on the road in the 90s.
A Crazy Night on the Road with Big Pun
Xzibit kicked off the story by describing a wild night while on a promo tour with Big Pun. The two were traveling on the East Coast, working their way towards Detroit or Flint. Everything started out relatively normal, but things quickly spiraled into chaos.
“We had two buses, and Pun’s bus breaks down,” Xzibit recalled. “Pun has his family with him, so he says, ‘Let me get on the bus.’ So, now they’re all on my bus.” Xzibit sensed that the night would be crazy, but he had no idea how intense it was about to get.
As the night wore on, the crew tried to get to a hotel, with Pun’s family eager to get off Xzibit’s bus. But things took a turn when a strange man with a Jheri curl arrived in a limousine. “This old-school guy pulls up with an attitude,” Xzibit remembers. “He’s like, ‘All you muthafuckas can’t get in my car!’” As tensions rose, Terror Squad members, who were with Big Pun, confronted the man. It was clear that things were about to escalate.
The Concert Turns Violent
Xzibit’s story takes a dramatic turn as he moves to the concert later that night. “Boobie the Boxer, a member of Terror Squad, was on stage with Pun,” he said. During the show, things got heated when someone in the front row threw something, sparking a fight. As the altercation reached the stage, chaos broke out.
“Somebody from the team pulled out a gun and fired it right into the air,” Xzibit laughed. “He pulled it out of a briefcase in the middle of the stage!” The audience, terrified, fled the venue in a panic. However, the trouble didn’t stop there.
A Close Call with the Police
When Xzibit and the crew made it back to their bus, they realized that the police had already arrived. “The shooter threw the gun in a dumpster,” Xzibit explains, “but the dumpster was empty, so you could hear the clanking.” The cops soon zeroed in on the dumpster and shined their flashlights on the gun. “They walked right up to it like, ‘Who threw it?’” Xzibit added, leading to everyone being temporarily cuffed by the authorities.
Though Xzibit and his crew were eventually allowed to leave, the night wasn’t over yet. Back at the hotel, they discovered a group of concertgoers looking for Terror Squad. “Now we gotta run this covert operation to get everybody on the bus and get out of there,” Xzibit recalled. “They shot the buses up and everything. It was crazy. There was never a dull moment.”
