Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Offered a Massive Sum to Star Together Again
Hollywood producer Danny Rossner has made headlines with a bold proposal: he is ready to pay $60 million to reunite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on screen. Despite their ongoing legal disputes and strained relationship, Rossner is determined to cast the former couple in his upcoming film, The Hotel Martinez, a World War II love story set in the iconic Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France.
Rossner revealed: Currently, Brad Pitt earns between $20 to $25 million per film, and Angelina Jolie takes home about $15 million. We are offering 50% more than their usual fees.” This would mean Brad Pitt could earn a staggering $37.5 million, while Angelina Jolie could pocket over $22 million if they agreed to take on the project.
The Story Behind The Hotel Martinez
In The Hotel Martinez, Rossner envisions Brad Pitt as Emmanuel Martinez, the charismatic owner of the hotel, and Angelina Jolie as Emma Digard, his captivating lover and muse. The film is inspired by real-life events, with a central plotline exploring a passionate romance during the tumultuous era of World War II.
Rossner has even teased a “steamy love scene” between the two main characters, emphasizing the emotional depth and intensity of their relationship. However, given the pair’s real-life tension, the producer admitted the script could be adjusted to ensure both actors feel comfortable.
Overcoming Tensions and Logistical Challenges
When asked about the apparent improbability of the collaboration, considering Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s ongoing legal battles and reluctance to even be in the same room, Rossner remains optimistic. “We’re serious about this offer,” he stated, adding that he has already raised the required $60 million from investors. He hopes this significant financial incentive will convince the former power couple to set aside their differences for the sake of art.
However, industry insiders suggest the reunion may be impossible. The lingering animosity between the two stars became evident last September at the Venice Film Festival, where organizers ensured their films were screened on separate days to avoid any awkward encounters.
Venice’s artistic director, Alberto Barbera, confirmed that Angelina Jolie’s film Maria premiered on August 29, while Brad Pitt’s Wolfs was scheduled for September 1. “There was no way they could cross paths at the Venice Lido,” Barbera told Vanity Fair.
A Complicated History
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s story began on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004, where their undeniable chemistry sparked romance rumors. The couple went public with their relationship in 2005, enjoying over a decade together before separating in 2016.
Their last on-screen collaboration, By the Sea (2015), directed by Angelina Jolie, was a deeply personal project about a struggling marriage. Unfortunately, their real-life relationship also unraveled soon after.
Since their split, the pair has been embroiled in legal disputes, with the most recent conflict revolving around the sale of their shared French estate, Château Miraval. Despite these challenges, Rossner believes the allure of creating cinematic magic together once again could potentially bring the estranged stars back to the negotiating table.
A High-Stakes Gamble
While the prospect of seeing Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reunited on screen is undoubtedly tantalizing for fans, the reality of their personal discord casts doubt on the feasibility of this ambitious project. Rossner’s track record includes hits like 2001: A Space Travesty and The Ultimate Weapon, and he remains hopeful that his reputation, combined with the substantial paycheck, will sway the actors.
If successful, The Hotel Martinez could mark a historic moment in Hollywood, merging real-life drama with cinematic storytelling. However, for now, the possibility of a Pitt-Jolie reunion remains uncertain—a dream project fraught with challenges but brimming with potential.
