Fans Suffer Seizure After Being Kicked by Security at Travis Scott Concert
A concertgoer reportedly experienced a seizure after being assaulted by a security guard during a Travis Scott concert at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Wednesday, October 23. He was among five fans who were hospitalized after being violently confronted by security personnel while trying to breach the barricade.
Travis Scott was scheduled to perform two shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 22 and 23 as part of his Circus Maximus tour. During the first show, trouble erupted when fans charged through security barriers and fought with police due to long wait times to enter the concert.
At the second concert, the situation not only failed to improve but escalated as two male fans attempted to jump the barricade to get closer to Travis Scott but were stopped by security. One fan was quickly apprehended, while the other tried to escape.
Onlookers at the concert were shocked to see a fan being fly-kicked by a security guard and then suffering a seizure while being restrained. He was subsequently removed from the stadium and handed over to medical personnel for treatment.
Following the violent incident, the atmosphere among witnesses became tense and fearful, with attendees sharing news of the event, leading to a significant impact on the concert’s image, now associated with violence.
This was not the first incident at a Travis Scott concert. There was a tragedy in which at least eight people lost their lives and hundreds were injured in a stampede at Scott’s Astroworld music festival held at NRG Park in Houston on November 5, 2021.
During the Astroworld performance, over fifty thousand attendees surged toward the stage, resulting in a massive stampede and numerous injuries. At one point before the stampede began, Scott paused his performance to instruct security to help manage the crowd.
“Security, somebody help, jump in there real quick. Somebody jump in, come on, come on, security,” Travis Scott could be heard saying in fan-captured video clips from the event.
