Kendrick Lamar Reacts to Drake’s Shady Livestream: ‘He Trippin??!’
Kendrick Lamar has swiftly responded to Drake’s recent livestream appearance, where he took direct shots at several rivals, including Kendrick himself. The livestream took place on xQc’s Kick channel, where Drake, with his signature defiance, addressed his critics and indirectly jabbed at Kendrick Lamar.
Drake’s Bold Statement on the Livestream
During the stream, Drake made a statement that seemed directed at Kendrick. “I’m here — mind, body and soul fully intact, in case you were wondering,” Drake said confidently. “You need facts to take me out; fairytales won’t do it.” The comment was seen as a response to the various claims Kendrick has made in his diss tracks about Drake, particularly regarding allegations of inappropriate behavior and other personal matters.
Drake didn’t stop there. He also took aim at Steve Lacy, calling him a “fragile” opponent, and even told xQc to turn off The Weeknd’s hit “Starboy” when it started playing during the stream. His boldness on the livestream was met with reactions across social media, including from Kendrick himself.
Kendrick’s Playful Response
Kendrick Lamar, ever the cool and composed figure, responded to the jabs in a lighthearted exchange with his friend Reli. Screenshots of their conversation were shared on Instagram, where Reli teased Kendrick about Drake’s antics. “You done turned blood into a streamer on Phillies,” Reli wrote, laughing at the situation. Kendrick replied with multiple laughing emojis and asked, “He trippin??!” showing that he wasn’t taking Drake’s comments too seriously.
Reli continued to joke, saying, “Blood don’t want no smoke Philly gang,” before censoring his next message, adding to the playful banter. Kendrick’s reaction seemed to indicate that he wasn’t rattled by Drake’s public statements.
Kendrick Lamar’s New Album ‘GNX’ and Subtle Shots at Drake
The exchange between Kendrick and Drake comes shortly after the release of Kendrick’s surprise album GNX on November 22. The 12-track project features more subliminal diss tracks aimed at his Canadian counterpart. On the opening song “wacced out murals,” Kendrick raps: “N-ggas from my city couldn’t entertain old boy / Promisin’ bank transactions and even bitcoin.” This line, though not directly referencing Drake, continues the theme of tension between the two, suggesting unresolved issues.
Further, Kendrick alludes to his previous diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle”, which caused a stir earlier this year. In the album, Kendrick raps about Snoop Dogg‘s support of the diss track, referencing it as something he didn’t expect: “Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the edibles / I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.”
In response, Snoop Dogg jokingly addressed the line on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “K dot new album GNX 💥🔥 It was the edibles 🤦♂️😂🤜🏽 west west king,” showing he didn’t take Kendrick’s comments too seriously.
Ongoing Tension Between Drake and Kendrick
This exchange highlights the ongoing rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which has been marked by subliminal jabs, diss tracks, and public statements. While Kendrick’s recent comments on his album are more subtle than his earlier diss tracks, it’s clear that the tension between these two hip-hop giants is far from over. Both continue to make waves in the industry, with each new release stoking the flames of their long-running feud.
As Kendrick remains focused on his music and career, the public will be watching for any more sparks to fly between him and Drake.
